Smartsalary named 2013 Best Employer by Aon Hewitt

ImageSmartsalary was named a Best Employer by Aon Hewitt on Thursday 30 May, following a comprehensive 6-month selection.

Aon Hewitt Best Employer judge Andrea Grant calls the process “exceptionally rigorous”, “robust” and “based on solid qualitative and quantitative data”.

Of the 125 employers that were reviewed, only 19 were awarded the prestigious title of Best Employer, with Smartsalary named alongside the likes of Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Frucor Beverages, Fiat Chrysler Group, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and The Wrigley Company.

Smartsalary has participated in the Best Employer program for the last 5 years, working diligently to achieve best practice across the elements considered by Aon Hewitt to be consistent to Best Employers, including:

  • Engagement
  • Leadership commitment
  • A compelling promise to employees
  • Connecting employees to the company and strategy
  • A differentiated high performance culture.

I believe that ensuring a highly engaged workforce is quite simply the singular most important factor that drives company performance. Without a highly engaged workforce, all other strategies are at best feeble, but more likely futile.

In last weekend’s Australian, Andrea Grant credits Best Employers as being led by people committed to being the best, who offer a real employee brand and who connect their employees to an overall strategy.

Smartsalary has also been recognised in the Business Review Weekly Fast 100 list in ’04, ’05 and ’06 as one of the fastest growing companies in Australia, and won the NSW Hudson Business Award at the Telstra Business Awards in 2006. In 2012, the Customer Service Institute of Australia awarded Smartsalary both the State and National Service Excellence Awards (Medium Business Category).
